dome dimmer

hi can any one help me

i am looking for a dome dimmer switch for my 69 satellite mine failed
if they know any one who be willing to repair it i would appreciate it.

this is the style i have

somewhere in there is a coil of wire on a ceramic disc.
a small brass/alloy contact runs on it.
basically a variable resistor....the longer the length of coil in circuit the dimmer the light gets

if its burnt out ot snapped you need to find out why before replaceing. the wires to the dome lamp should be checked for short circuit to the body.

if it is snapped you might be able to solder it....

i have a different set up so whilst i have repaired them previously by swapping in a part from another switch, mine uses the A body headlamp switch dimmer combined unit, that option may not be open to you,

need to see the buiness end of yours to work out if the disc/coil part is common to both types of switch in which case i may well have a part..but no idea if it will fit

lots of nice pictures here, which idicates that they might have used the same disc thingy on both styles of switch
