cuda road lamp switches
Originals like rocking horse poo. Re pros $230.. Anyone know of any places doing them for realistic price...Calling China? Need the relay and the loom as well. Probably cheaper to make my own for £20 with rs components switch...Thought I'd ask the question anyway...thanks

Re: cuda road lamp switches
I would just make something that was functional and fit for purpose- they are tucked out of the way anyway...

No doubt the re pro switches are made in China anyway with the Americans adding as much of a mark up as the market will stand.

OEM Its a Koch INDAK 4 spade toggle switch patent 3235679
see here for pictures of supposedly orginal equipment
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/203899140300 ... 08QAvD_BwE
if you have a broken one
then buying the 2 pin 3235678
here for $19
https://www.ebay.com/itm/154651036263
may well give you all the parts necessary to make a repair
or buy two. cheaper here
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/154157644387 ... BMguHDz5Jg
with a small drill and some rivets you could swap parts to make a 4 pin version
I'd guess 90% sure that the slider inside is the same in the 4 pin and 2 pin . they are the same width with the same base, just the 2 pin is missing 2 pins....
if you don't fancy that
get a new one
ask them what would be a reasonable replacement for INDAK toggle switch patent 3235679
https://www.indakswitches.com/toggle-switches/
you may end up with one that has 6 connectors and 1 extra click of the toggle but better than nout, just gotta work out which 4 connectors give you the road lamp function you are after
or wire in parking lamps or emergnecy flashers to the other position
and if you really don't care
https://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/toggle-s ... lsrc=aw.ds
NOW i have assumed this is a DPST switch i.e two ON/OFF swicthes with 1 lever i.e 2 circuits either OFF or ON
rather than a DPDT which is an ON or ON switch toggle down 1 circuit on and one off toggle up the orginal circuit off and the other circuit on
can't really work out whats what from the wires shown here as i don't know which end is which and i can't see into the connectors

Re: cuda road lamp switches
Thanks Dave. For all the hassle I might just get the repro bezel and an rs switch that suits. Looks the part, just have to figure the wiring out. Probably easier to buy the under dash loom with the right connectors, find a relay that works the same and make the wires to the road ,

Oops....road lamps...
There are a few places doing the harness as a repro I've seen. Just got to figure out when my car was redone if they used a 70 or 71 new wiring loom. I saw what you did on ebay for the original kit

Re: cuda road lamp switches
Damn my secret is OUT
find a pic
get patent and or manufactuerers part number, not the chrysler one
check the patent online
see which company had the patent
follow the company history who took em over....
look up the modern company
see if they do the switch.
see if they at least did or might remember the switch...
do a random search based on company and patent or part and "4 pin toggle switch", avoiding mentioning Cuda Mopar etc so you don't get Mopar taxed....
use that as a saved search on ebay and wait..... someone who doesn't know it was used as a mopar switch will post one up eventually
Amazing what you find.....
pity i only found 2 pin versions this time....
chrylser tended to buy in parts from companies with a good reputation in industrial machinery and plant parts supply
for exmaple the luminecence driver on a 67 charger is shared with a tractor or diggger...

Re: cuda road lamp switches
LoL!! I was meaning the picture of the wiring loom you put a link to. I doubt I'd be that studious to find the patent, manufacturers no. etc. Very clever Dave and I'm impressed. Really useful - for all your efforts I might just get an original used switch. I'd never have had a chance of working out who made them unless I had an original one in my hand. I've seen the bezels for sale for about $25

Re: cuda road lamp switches
well i recon they prise apart
and i'd be willing to bet that the toggle the slider and spring clip will fall out...i.e options to mix and match parts to make a working one.
