Could any of you machine this?

Post by Blue »

I know there's a few of you on here have machining skills, would any of you be able to machine a 727 case to take a repair bearing? Trev D can't fit it in his milling machine.

I am not a machinist, but can't you do it from the other side with a Boring bar?

You would have to draw the cutter onto the Workpiece as opposed to pushing down as per normal...

I did wonder if that was possible, I'll be guided by those that know!

Not sure if I would still have access to the boring head to make adjustment, if I did from the other side. I’ll have another look, think.

I know Roger (Luty) had someone machine Jerry’s 727 for something similar. as Roger couldn’t do it on his Bridgeport, it might be worth dropping him a line.
