They didn't feel they were that bad to me. But I am 6 foot.

I used to be 6' 1.25" but that's old age for you.

Sorry I can't remember how much I paid as it was a while back however the website quotes $71.95 each belt. You can see the price if you click the "products" link on the page I sent and scroll down. Perhaps worth a quick E mail to see if they are coming back into stock soon.

Will do. Thats reasonable. The Aussie drop links are £50ish by the time posted and similar for the generic belts. If its $72 all in thats very good IMO.
Thanks.

aussie links will work with any belt... including fixed length non recoil belts
big wide 0 on the end all but the most ostentatious buckle tab will fit through although you might have to remove the plastic trim and refit on some

just stuff the original top loop down the side of the seat or cut it off with bolt croppers or a hack saw.

other option is to dismantle the belt at the real end. Not Fun at all....
much like dismantling a recoil starter or an alarm clock... getting all the bits back in, is a fight.
getting it all back in and have it function as well as it did is a whole new challenge that only become apparent after you have congratulated yourself on a job well done

but if you have belts already you don't need new ones, you just need the drop links. unless of course you just have a lap belt or a lap and cross belt as 2 separate parts.

Oz dollar is 55p at the mo. i purchased mine when it was closer to 100p... :(

Will prob go for the Aussie.
Got reply from the supplier of the full kit - they are out of stock as their supplier doubled the price. They are looking for a new one - so could be a while...

Hold on. Just to waken this up again... my brains not quite firing

Shoulder mounts and drop links; thats fine. Got the holes and mounting point.
But the bit on the sill where the retractable bit goes - my current setup only has one mount point. (for the lap belt). This setup will need 2 wont it ? One for the retractable and one for the other end.

So how did Dave(R) do this ? Did he drill the sill and add a new mount point ?
From Daves pic - this is the bit I mean - 2 mounts -

1 hole
long bolt
sill, small spacer/swivel, flying end of belt, washer or flat spacer, reel, lock washer, bolt head. all good
ideally the flying end swivels and the reel must not, but no big deal. set the best angle of both parts and do up tight

you can sleeve the first 6 inches of the flying end in battery heat shrink wrap, get the right width but don't shrink it on the belt ,just on the flying end mount to keep it in place .warm the mount with hair dryer. suggest black would be best

but you may have 2 holes just no hole in carpet

i ran about like this for ages until my curiosity got the better of me, the aluminium inner sill trim on my car had 2 cut outs, one an obvious half moon for the hole i was using and a second a small crescent that just looked like shoddy workmanship turns out that was another hole under there in the sill, it needed a good clean out with a tap due to never having been used.

Ooh ! Look what arrived today ? Dont you love packages from America...? This is the XV racing products B-body 3pt conversion kit.
Waiting to see if the customs charge and 'uninvited handling fee' rocks up now too.

First glance, looks really nice. Proof will be in the fitting I guess.
You can see the droplink in the 2nd pic.

Good move, Morgan, I never regretted putting them in my Charger!

Yeah - Its shamefully been on my never-never list for ages. (You know, the list of great things to do that I never get round to!).
I put 3pt in the rear ages ago with huge steel anchor points etc but somehow left the ragged old original belts in the front. Worse than that I only tend to use the 'lap' portion as the high-riding roof mount rubs on my neck.
They can go in the box of 'things for the next owner to undo' now :)

1 hole. Looking at the installation pics on the website thats fine; the long metal mount goes in behind the retractable on the same bolt - so no need to find a second bolt hole. With the right socket (thin, to get into recess) is shouldnt be too bad - famous last words.

Ive got the shoulder belts already, so no need to go poking around in the headliner. (phew).

Might go and have a look later...

Well, its not bad. Couple of teething issues (had to turn the buckle etc as twisted).
They work fine, MUCH better than the stock hang-from-ceiling. On a Charger they dont clear the plastic trim on the side of the seat so had to remove it. Not a big deal, it goes in the box with the rest of the old belts, but it was the only way to get clearance. Couple of big washers too. Other than that, 30 mins start to finish.
