There is a printed curciut board on the back of the dash panel fuel and temp are conected via these also check to see if your voltage regulator is working earth out fuel and temp if they go to max then the gauges are ok

Terry.... Pull off the wire that goes to the fuel sender in the tank & get someone to hold it to the car body (earth) while you are sitting in the car. When it is earthed switch on your ignition & the gauge should read full. Do the same with the temp sender wire on the waterpump.
P.S "DONT" leave it reading full for too long incase you fry the gauge.
