Engine starts/ticksover fine, mash the throttle and nothing happens, ease the throttle open and revs happily. This happens both in neutral and out on the road. Engine is 318 with a Holley 600 vs. Replies in novice/idiot language please
Do a search to find Dave's excellent guides to timing and setting up your carb. Run through them BOTH and you will be running sweet. The methodical approach is the only way to get things running spot on.
I used a rich/lean gauge with a sensor just behind the collector. Monitoring mixture in a real world situation is probably better. You can spend as much time as you like getting it right.
Mopars seem to like around 13:1 air/fuel mixture for best power rather than anything richer. I tune them a bit leaner on the idle mixture.
