Who is hot on importing these days?
A mate of mine casually mentions he's got £20K burning a hole in his pocket and a jones to own a gen 1 Camaro. Who better to ask than you guys I thought... I know theres a couple of people frequent these parts source and ship. Is £20K reasonable to land and register a nice '67-'69 Camaro?

It would be worth asking Ron Fenton (username - ronfenton) - http://www.stsimports.co.uk/ - he's brought quite a few MMA & MOCGB cars in, in recent years, and I'm sure he could advise on Chevys too
Nice 2007 one on Ebay! At 20K

I thought I'd read Skippy had given up importing? I've not been on the board much for a while so I may have got the wrong end of the stick.
That '07 is a masterpiece of bad ebaying. Wrong description, wrong section. Thats how I got my Cadillac - I spotted it listed in cars>other cars with some odd title and almost no description. I got it for less than half what an almost identical one sold for in classic cars>american which had actual description and even the word "Cadillac" spelt right in the title LOL.
Cheers Kev, I've pointed that one out to him its exactly what he's looking for.

this car selling lark is an art and you have to be a good bullhitter and supremly luckyIvor wrote:I'd heard Skippy had given up importing too, he certainly hasn't been on the board for a fair while...
the traders that make it have great belief in there product even when its a turd they will brazen it out when its pointed out to them that the car is a turd and it does not sway or disilusion them,
i suspect skippy has not got any of the above quailities
i struggle with plenty of cars that i have owned/ sold i can see they are not that good and struggle to bullhit to the contrary its like any item that someone may sell you have to have faith in the product even when you know its tosh

Couldn't agree more about an art to selling, also good to have a good network of friends, people in the trade, etc, etc.Cannonball wrote:

May mate has imported 5 or 6 cars this year, with another due Friday. He seems to be able to sell them really quick & could sell them over & over again if he had them.
Reasonably big money cars as well, he tends to stick to certain models & doesn't go out of that comfort zone. I wouldn't say he sells turds, just seems to know what people want
