Exhaust Manifold Valve
Does anyone have any advice/experiences regarding the exhaust gas valve ?? on my 383 I have one of these which I understand directs exhaust gas to the inlet manifold to pre heat the fuel, It has been all seized up for a while but I have freed it up and it seems to work, but I am unsure if this is only really needed for cold weather or cold climate countries, or if it stops the fuel icing or if it is just a fire hazard, there is some evidence that my inlet manifold has got hot in the past so the valve must be directing the air through any experiences or advice welcome ????

Cut the damn thing out and throw it away! It will just stick again and you just know it will be in the closed position the next time.
If you never use your car during cold winter months block off the heat riser that goes through the intake. That will stop the paint there getting burnt and it will give you a few extra HP too.
