That whole Eagles/Altmans/Doobies machine and all the collaborations it spawned was one of the best things to happen to American rock, period :D

If you like Free, Bad Company and Paul Rogers vocals in particular (which I do) I think you'll really enjoy this.

It's from his first solo album and I gus you could say that it's his 'Stairway To Heaven'.

In my opinion It's Paul Rogers singing at his very best.

Enjoy :thumbright:

Not my fave song of his but got to agree one of the best singers out there, seen him live
I never get bored of Bad Co & Free...i loved the solo stuff he did like The Law 8-) Muddy Water Blues Tribute.

And of course the Firm with Jimmy Page

Cool Artwork Ivor 8-)
The Firm seemed ahead of there time but this song rocks, and didnt the do a sountrack to a Charles Bronson movie? I can remember the name?

Ahh yes death wish 3 that has the firm doing the soundtrack , but the movie is average at best,,

I never knew there was a notorious U.K prisoner name d Charles Bronson.

He did one movie called then came Bronson, in his early years he always played a tough rugged guy,and always saved the girl in the end ;)

And it was Page that did the soundtrack not the Firm

I really enjoyed the film "Bronson". Fantastically acted by Tom Hardy. Really makes you think about the prison system and how it handles people like him. I highly recommend it. :thumbright:

Anyone remember John Sykes? Another unsung British axe god.

He had a stint with Whitesnake on the '1987' album which in my opinion was their best by far!!!!

For whatever reason he fell out with David Coverdale and formed Blue Murder. For a debut album I think he did a brilliant job.

Typical naff 80's video so just close your eyes, turn it up to eleven and (hopefully) enjoy.

a bit more bluesy soul than some of the hair metal in this thread but well worth seeing if you love live music

He was like a breath of fresh air when he took over the 'Robbo' slot in Thin Lizzy, esp after Snowy White had had his turn :?

Still remember being blown away by them playing 'Cold Sweat' on the late nite version of Tiswas; 'OTT'. So much heavier than anything they'd done for some time!

Also saw him in his Tygers Of Pan Tang days - one of the NWOBHM oldies

But when he took over (or tried to) Phil's place in Lizzy in the late 90's, or early '00s, he went a bit too 'metal' for my and most people's liking, so Scott Gorham pulled the plug on that line up. Havent heard much abiut him since :?
