Will be there Friday morning, going up with James Demon. Set up caravan.

Then going to work for 2pm...

Back Saturday morning maybe with the Charger.

Then going to work for 2pm....

Back to nats after work at 11pm, quick beer if anyone is still up,

Sunday morning at Nats..

Then going to work for 2pm. :x

Bloody Olympics shift pattern.

At least the Pod is only 40 minutes from home. No racing this year, all money spent going back and forth to work.

Well I'm glad i'm not going...

I'm getting my car painted by my mate Danny.... FOR FREE!!!!

It ain't a £5k rotisserie job but it'll be as good as i could have afforded if i was paying. If that makes sense?
It'll be bare-metalled, rust-killed, 2-packed and smooth-as-glass-finished and all in 3-4 weeks. He's off work and lives 2 doors away and he's doing it just cos he loves the car.

If i was going to the Nats i'd have missed this!

Saw Henry HiRise being trailered south on the M1 today. They will be well early! 8-)
24 hours in a day, 24 beers in a case. Coincidence? I think not…

Paul, just a thought, would it be worth documenting your respray?? Sure a thread on this would give V8sam an idea of what to expect from a decent respray on his car.....Cheers Steve

Free with American Express( so I just pay with charges, nowts for free) And they have JD too so I'll try and get my monies worth .
Can get expensive but here, but can be cheaper, in places.
Loads of pubs and bars, British club is about bd1.5 so about £2.40 a pint not bad really.
Ramadan at the moment so no food or drink to be consumed during the day when folks are about. As soon as I get up the M1 tomorrow I'll be getting myself a nice reakfastvora healthy bacon cob!

Is it true you can't have a one day entry on Friday? My girlfriend was planning on coming just for the Friday?

Looks like I'm out. Just as I was nearly home from work tonight I heard a loud knocking sound coming from under the car. Managed to get home driving very slowly and got it in the garage. I must have been under the car for two hours and I'm still not sure what the problem is. The knocking gets louder as I drive it through the gears and almost goes away if I put my foot on the clutch so I think it's a gearbox problem. What could be knocking in a 4 speed box?

A bearing failure Mick, you'll have to pull it out to find out, was it whining on overrun or very light throttle before the knocking? A synchro will grind and just get stiff to shift, so as long as the box shifted easily enough I would guess at bearings. I'm ordering from Brewers in a couple of weeks if you wanna share carriage and Bananarama! import duty :thumbright:

Ade, that's what I'm going to check in the morning. I can get the side cover off the box while it's in the car and check the bearings.
I was getting a slight whine on the overrun but it sounded like it was coming from the diff.
If it is the rear bearing I may be able to get hold of one locally, it's a Timken 308. Not sure if I could pull the gearbox, rebuild it and refit it in a day though. Not as young as I used to be.
