If that 650 torque figure is true then that will be one hell of a car to drive.

Scary fast.

The rumor was not far wrong.

http://www.corvettemuseum.org/specs/2015/index.shtml

The heart of the 2015 Corvette Z06 is the all-new LT4 6.2L supercharged V-8 engine, expected to deliver an estimated 625 horsepower (466 kW) and 635 lb-ft of torque (861 Nm). To balance performance and efficiency, the LT4 leverages the same trio of advanced technologies introduced on the Corvette Stingray: Direct injection, Active Fuel Management, or cylinder deactivation, and continuously variable valve timing.

8-) don't know if its my age  , I seem to be looking at late model corvettes for sale a lot recently , think make a lot of sense on uk roads with out crappy weather & stuff , plus can drive them all year round ,
this new one certainly has power , don't like the shape though , Dave Rs shape corvette much better , 8-) think they should of just kept that shape & stuck this new motor in it 8-)

Late model Vettes are good value for money if you like driving.

But it is not the same as a rumbling V8 muscle car.

If I could afford both types I would have both.

Well they have announced the new LT4 engine in the 2015 Z06 has been SAE-certified as producing an outstanding 650 HP and 650 lbs/ft of torque.

Which makes it the most powerful car GM have ever produced and is only beaten in power by the Ferrari LaFerrari, the McLaren P1, the Porsche 918 Spyder, the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta, the Lamborghini Aventador and the Ferrari FF.

According to Chevy, 457 pound-feet of torque is available at idle, while 96 percent of peak torque arrives by 2,800 rpm.

That is very impressive indeed and the car itself looks stunning...I'd have one as a daily! :D
