Many years since I last saw this....

Post by Blue »

Got sent a photo today of my old Duster, hasn't tuned a wheel since I sold it 25 years ago, good to see it's being well looked after

That's mental.
Contact the fella and tell him I've got a mega rare car he can store for a million years in exchange for the Duster.
That needs to be back where it belongs.
Poor thing. ;)

Why would you buy a car like that and spend probably (I assume) good money on it, then park it outside in the mud and leave the window open...

Can you buy it back from the guy, for 1/100 of the price you sold it to him for?

I dunno, just about every car I've ever built or sold has never been seen again, looks like the Dart is rapidly heading in the same direction...

It's quite a list,
'67 Barracuda - towed away by the council
'68 Barracuda - missing presumed scrapped
'66 Dart -missing presumed scrapped
'69 D 100 -scrapped
'74 Scamp - missing for 20 years reappeared briefly as the Plodge
They were all perfectly good cars when I sold them.
Others I've built,
'66 pro street Coronet -missing
'67 Dart- wrecked
'69 Sox Barracuda - on extended garage leave
'65 Belvedere- last seen in France

Not exactly a great portfolio is it...

As far as I'm aware the bloke bought it off me and did nothing with it other than let it deteriorate.

What a waste, just think of the fun he could have had in that car. I'm of the opinion that some people buy these cars just to be able to tell people they own it but have no intention of ever using it.

That's a real shame :( Personally, it would suit me not to see one of my Cars again, like Women you can get quite attached but once its time for them to go you never want to see 'em again ;) I dread the day I have to let one of my Cars go, this causing a dilemma as there is always summit else I fancy :)

Blue, your old Duster has certainly seen better days :thumbright:

Philistines! Better to break it so other people can get the benefit of its parts than to let it sit and rot if there was never any intension of using it.

That's co's you live west of the Harlow border, nearer towards Bas Vegas / Canvey, the sockage dept definitely got lighter ;)

Out of interest, why was the Duster pulled out, is it up for sale?
