Hi Bluey!
Have only seen your Charger once but do know you have a good one there. Well done!

Any more pics of the Ute? What is the engine and gearbox?
Its always good to know someone else who has same/similar in case of a need for parts or comparison when something needs doing to them.

Kingswood ute is a 308, with the auto 400 box

Yep, mine is black. Not sure of the colour of the other one in the UK, think it is also black or dark blue maybe. Never seen it myself but spoke to the owner on the phone a few years ago, nice bloke, in Essex if I remember. Anyway it was a 253 aparantly, that died and he had put a 350 chev in it.
Mine is a 308 and Aussie 4 speed (M21 - aussie version not the yank).

TH400 in your ute, not a Trimatic then?
Looks good and solid from the pics.
Had it long? ship it over yourself?

Like the reg, 'OIL'
Paint it black, call it 'Midnight Oil' :)

The other Monaro is black and owned by a Harpenden whose name escapes me. He also owns and restores vintage trucks.
You are right about the 350 transplant.
I have also seen a 4 door Kingswood at Harpenden, a blue one.

Pretty sure it is the TH400, got the M41 code on the Body Identification Plate. Believe the TH400 came as standard on all 308's from HQ's onwards.

Saw an old yellow HK Monaro at the Ace Café this year.

No shipping, bought in the UK last year.

Like the name and colour suggestion. Rego was a bit of a bonus, have played some "Oils" in its cd player :-)

Both the Charger and the ute only have Aussie cd's in them, AC/DC, Cold Chisel and Rose Tattoo at the moment....

CD player!
You are a modern man!
Had a CD player in my HQ for a long time when I was an apprentice back in Oz.... was a portable one on the passenger side floor! :)
AM thumb wheel radio that doesnt work now days, so I can listen to the car instead.

If I remember correctly the TH pattern is different to the Trimatic and Aussie 4 speed so the engine blocks were drilled and dowled different.
Commercial vehicles (Utes, vans and 1 tonners) may have had the TH boxes due to the likleyhood of towing - just a guess. where as they may have been an option for other vehicles.

Anyway a much better auto to have than the 'Traumatic'. :thumbright:
