65 Plymouth Satellite

Post by NSP »

Hello,

I'm new to the site and have only recently really started getting into MOPAR but already feel a lot for these cars, their legacy and what they are about.

Please forgive my ignorance and just wanted any comments on the following. I love the Newport and Belvedere but have really set my sights on buying a mid 60's Satellite. There don't seem to be many for sale, here is one. From what I've seen few come with matching engines and a lot have been beefed up like this 440. I've spoken at length with the guy here and I feel he has been honest on overall condition. I just wanted any comment on whether at face value this engine setup specifically or car should ring any alarm bells?

Thanks

Jon

Looks like my cars little sister  Mine runs a 426/727 auto. Anyone would think this one went through the bodyshop the same time as mine

Worth the money I would think,if you can live with a manual.

Hey thanks, do love the Belvedere too, I think the C size kills my storage option on the monthly rent! They've had it 3 months, I think I'll push 20k and see how the conversation goes. I'd be Happy with the 4 stick

Is your engine matching or your upgrade?

Welcome aboard NSP :thumbright:

Car looks great, the 4 speed is the icing on the cake 4 me ;)

Just a tip on using the forum, use the the relevant category for your topic, that way you'll get more response.
So for example this post could go into the section - For Sale: Cars.
People tend to have certain categories they never bother lookin at so this makes it easier for them to sift out the posts they wouldn't bother with.

Bananarama! this is fairly sensible for me

Welcome, nice choice of car. Mines a 4 speed and I must admit the novelty factor is wearing thin. Be going auto methinks.

Welcome to the club!! :thumbright:

That's one fine looking car! The pictures are very detailed and tells me that the seller is happy (visually) with what he is selling. Good description as well.

I couldn't see where the car is located but maybe someone on here has a contact of friend close by who could view it for you??

Good luck and get stuck in....great club!!

Cheers Steve :thumbright:

Welcome to the club - it is probably best if you can hook up with some members and go for a spin in their cars to ascertain what you like and what is best for your needs....

Great looking car... I see your London based, me to... With that in mind, a 440 and a stick shift for driving around town would be hard core... But maybe you have other plans :D Pete's idea is a good one if you are less familiar with the cars. Good luck :thumbright:

Unless you are used to American 4 speeds, that might not be for you. They are pretty agricutural and very much an aquired taste, just a heads up.

Hi Jon, I haven't got any experience with a manual 'yank' but apart from that, it looks to be a good car at a good price.

The only thing that it looks like it might need sometime soon is a bit of freshening up on the dash parts. There's a couple of place in the states that do good work in that department so nothing too much to worry about if you were to think of getting that done one day.

If you can live with a manual I'd say go for it!

PS - we keep getting reminded on here by one of our ex-pat members who now lives in Canada (Jeff), that the £ - $ (Canadian) rate is very good at the mo, so it might be worth looking round at sellers north of their border.

PPS - As Ade mentioned above, this thread might be better in a different section, but I'd suggest putting it in the 'Mopar Lounge', the place for general Mopar chat and where new members tend to say hi.
The For Sale section is more for people selling cars or just posting links to cars for sale that they think others might be interested in. I can move it if you like.

Just my :mytwocents: :D
