The original equipment F70R14 is equivalent to 215/70R14, but you will be fine with 225/70R14.
I had 245/60R14s on my 14" Rallyes, and they are way too wide. As you say, they move around on the sidewalls.
If you upgrade to 15's, my preference is for 275/60R15 on 8's at the rear, and 235/60R15 on 7's at the front.

I think a wheel change may be on the cards in the future, but for the time being I think it's perhaps best I just refresh the tyres and put some more miles on it first. See what else crops up. At least I can sell a good wheel and tyre combo later down the road, then, too.
