95 Ram ignition cylinder housing

Post by Mossy68 »

Anyone changed an ignition cylinder on a Ram ?
Mine has snapped at the bottom ( common fault ) currently awaiting new part from rock autos. And glued back together for now ( fingers tightly crossed !)
My question is. At the bottom of the cylinder housing there is a small spring which seems to bend round into a groove. Is this normal , or could the spring have been damaged by the broken piece ?
Will get a pic when I change it ( hopefully Wednesday ) if I get no joy.
Can't find anything on web.

Cheers. Gary. :read2:

Fitted new part tonight. I had a better look , and all seems to be correct , even if a little strange !
Working perfectly.

My first order from Rock auto. US to my door within 3 working days !!!
FedEx international priority ( tax prepaid )

Very impressed ! :thumbright:
