If you still have the clip in type it is possible to keep what you have by refilling the blades. I saw NOS ones on us ebay for 70 notes and thought "hmm... no thanks". The old boy at our local parts shop relines a pair for a tenner!
Yes you can just replace the rubber blade. Unfortunately most of our cars have long since had modern plastic wipers fitted and the original metal blades thrown away which is why the original ones fetch a lot of money.

Yes, I can appreciate that. It's been a bit of a shock to the system how deep you seem to have to dig for even basic parts for these old mopars having owned and run MGB's for the last 10 years! They are good fun, though.
You can still pick up the chrome original arms and the rubbers you can buy in kit form from most halfords outlets . If your not to fussed and you don't mind a walk around any breakers you can pick up your arms there. I found a pair of old Rover 2000 arms used to fit my charger .
