Brake Query.......

Post by Dave81 »

All,

Following last years excitement of losing brakes on the Duster, its time for me to tackle the issue.

Problem is that I'm not 100% sure what came as standard. Done some research but cant find a definitive answer.

The car is a 73 Canadian built with 225ci/904/7.25.
Manual brakes all drum.

I believe I've identified the fronts as 10" I'd guess by 2.5.

The rears I've failed to identify. They are either 9x2 or 10s again

Did they stagger the brakes on the casr in 73....As in 10" on front 9" on rear? Or did they put the same on all 4 (either all 9" or all 10").

Pic's from yesterday to help ID:

Fronts are these I believe:

Exchange rate is on its arse so not having to buy for both would be a benefit!!

I had similar problem to find out if my front drums were 9 or 10.

Anyway I am going to disc on front soon (when they get here from US) so you are welcome to any/all the front 9" drum items taken out.

Good luck :thumbright:

Thanks for the offer chaps. I'll see if I can sell first, then may take you up on your offers!!

The front is deffo a 10x2.5.

Looking at the rears, its the contact area that's got me thinking. I'm sure its 2" in width.

Not sure, but I know they did a 9x2.

Di they do 10x2's or was it only 10x2.5???
