Sorry Ashley, no photos from the set, they were strictly prohibited and anyone taking pics could be thrown off the set, so it wasn't worth the riskFranken40 wrote:RobTwin wrote:Hi Ashley, great to have you here!
I was on that film shoot too, with our 63 Polara, and a few other MMA members and their cars. I remember your car being there - I even had a lift in it, around the set, driven by its then-owner, Chris. One thing I do remember about it was its low-slung exhaust rubbing on the ramps when we had to drive up the elevated sections - I hope it's been sorted now!
Hi Robtwin it was Chris on one of the Facebook pages who told me of its past, great to hear of more people/cars from the film. My mates mum has a Valiant sat in their field and they got that off Pinewood studios and they were told that was used also used in the film. You didn't happen to have any pictures from the filming or use of our cars of the chrysler ? be great to have more shots of it, on the off chance you have any
SJH, ScottyDave cheers guys and Dave81 thanks they were built to use we got 9 cars all pre 75 its all my family run 3 yanks (2 mopar) 3 Triumphs and 3 Austins don't like modern cars can't fix them
However, another member on here 'english68' (real name Nigel) was working on that film and was responsible (in full or in part) for importing all the cars used (including the star's 'cuda, which he bought for himself after the film), apart from the MMA members cars plus a few others, so he might be able to fill you in on any other info to do with the cars used on the film

i know John woolfe & CM Frost is there any other american car parts specialists or specifically mopar specialists in the uk ? could get bits from states but time isn't on my side. neither is funds currently in time. but i may be young and trying to "rush" but i assure i won't bodge or risk it without it being fixed properly if it gets down to it and i can't make it ... then i can't. but i'm damned i'll go out without a fight
Great car and welcome to the club.
I think this car belonged to Steve Miles who sadly passed away recently. He was very active in the US car scene and had (and published) a huge catalogue of period photos of cars around the UK (mainly around Oxford/ Cambridge/ London).
If it was his car, I remember meeting him when I delivered the hubcaps to him on my way back from the Essex swapmeet with a pal of mine who is a C body Guru (and cracking Elvis tribute).

Enjoy this great car and don't forget to ask if you need any help.
Must do list.....

Lighting relay conversion
Cheers Steve
