Front brake flexi

Post by ALLAN »

just had the Polara MoT'd  one of the advisories was that the front brake flexies were too short as they are tight with the suspension hanging...I promised not to jump any downed bridges, slipped his guide dog some more biscuits and all was well. but how long should they be? the hoses are new and bought to spec for model,I have seen some advertised with a metal pipe angle piece at one end, I also remember a similar problem with my old Chevy. any ideas? (other advisories were old tyres at 8 year, and leaking steering motor,)

I have recently changed some front Flexi Hoses for precisely the same reason - they should not be under tension in any position.

Try and take some measurements and discuss with a supplier.

The alternative option is to make up some custom Braided AN hoses, which should perform better with less ballooning.

I put the wilwood flexis on mine when I did the front disc kit - and they are way longer than the OEM.
In fact the flap about in a big loop compared, but apparently this is OK. Might be an easier option.
