General Lee

Post by ChorleyCharger »

Hi guys,

I am converting my charger into my dream car the General Lee! Does anyone know where I can get the push bar for the front? I want the wide version. Maybe I'll have to have one made.

Thanks, Alex

Hi ChorleyCharger,
Are you going to start a build thread?
It would be an interesting read for me as I used to own a GL.

Sure I can start a thread and keep you updated.
How long did you have your general for, did you not want it anymore?

I owned it for about 4yrs. I sold it due to not using it much. It seemed to be the right thing to do at the time although I wish I kept it now.

Well, here's the 'before'...

Have you considered a wrap rather than repainting ? You can achieve 90% through a wrap and some bolt ons and then it becomes easy to undo in the future if you decide. Protects the car underneath and probably cheaper...

I have been looking for the decals for the General Lee. I've been talking to an American company called Phoenix who supplied the decals for the actual movie car so theyre legit and correct dimensions. I can buy the set from them but its a hefty postage fee. Anybody know a uk company that does them? Thankyou

Neil at H Signs did mine back in the day. Very good.

Less "final" than having them painted on....

I'm sure the lettering was different on the movie cars but I think Pheonix do each style any way.

Hi Guys, Not posted for a while. Just thought I'd share some pictures of what I did to the Charger. It was finished in april and I have been doing shows and events with it since then. Latest event was a prom last week which was fun.
And yes I know it needs the bar and wheels but I like it as it is for now 😄
