A bit of a pie in the sky question but does anybody know the rough difference selling a 70's car with an original build sheet and without?
We are still waiting for the buildsheet for the 73 Roadrunner and being told by the seller that he is chasing it up after we were first told the guy from the states is posting it, is now wearing a bit thin, it was advertised with build sheet and I want it, stamps foot, or at least an honest answer.
I was thinking the next step is, we would like so much refunding as it is not as described, we get it often enough.

Re: Build Sheet
In the U.K. I'd say it has no value at all, it's just a nice thing to have. Even in the States unless it's a rare and desirable model, original documentation isn't really going to add value,it might just make it an easier sale.

Re: Build Sheet
Have you looked to see if there are any other built sheets in the car? There's often more than one.

Re: Build Sheet
Apart from the headlining Robin has had all the seats and carpet and everything else out, he did find a couple of corners that could have been a build sheet as someone tried taking it out.

Re: Build Sheet
Shame, my Duster was the only Mopar I have owned that still had the build sheets, there were 4 in that. My others cars had already had interior work done and I think that's when they go missing.

I've heard they can be behind the glove box too.
I found some of mine under the back seats, the mice had had most of it for their lunch.

Re: Build Sheet
aussie cars didn't have one in the car, it stayed in a card file at the factory.... they just wrote it all in chalk on the underside of the dash often repeated both sides
it rusts and leaves an reasonably indelible mark .....
which is nice
