what are you doing while at home?

Post by mygasser »

we're mostly stuck at home at the moment so what have you been doing?
summing up so far i've made some waist high planters for the wife to grow veggies in, rendered and painted a bit of wall that's needed doing in my conservatory for about 6 years and today found and put up the american graffiti photos and posters in the living room. here's some pics of the graffiti wall.
oh and stripped and cleaned a small block chevy engine for a project a mate and me are doing as and when we can.
lets see what you're all up to.
neil.

Removing moss from the drive. And taking my Challenger out at any given opportunity that my wife wants stuff from Tesco’s.

Also I’ve managed to secure freelance work from home for the company I used to work for so will will be busy 2 weeks of the month. Much better than working at their London office and no more 4 hour and 8 train commute a day anymore.

Until last Monday I was working at the office 15 miles away as normal but since Monday I've been working from home. Lucky to still have a job I guess but as we make equipment for the food and pharmaceutical industry plus communication devices for the MOD, we've been told we're 'key workers'. Suits me fine :thumbright:

Personally I'm not doing any work on the cars as Stu keeps them in his garage, but I know he was looking at replacing the number plate bulb in the Dodge... :working:

Working from home which is OK if the internet connection works, going into office once a week. Rest of time getting loads done on the 57 Chevy truck, tidied garage, soring out jobs that I keep leaving for a rainy day.

Now the truck is running, I can slow down a bit on that so.............

This weekend is loft sort out!! (25 years worth).

working from home 8-4 pm (GIN TIME), haven't been to the garage (1 minute away by car) for 2 weeks and don't plan to. Only going to local Tescos twice a week. They are doing a fantastic job, as is everyone on the food supply chain.

So painted shed, gate and a garden bench. Washed mine and her's daily's, clay'd them, polished them and I guess hoover them at some point.
Started my small block to set the mixture and check the valve clearances.
Oh and putting the saved diesel expenditure into extra beer.

I'm a key worker so business as usual for me until I get sick. Luckily my workshop is 5 mins from my home and on my commute so I can still do a bit as there's nobody else there. Barracuda is getting new carpet, after which I'll break the new motor in on the Valiant and they will be ready for when we all get out of prison...

The loft worries me as I'm a bit of a hoarder, there's thing in our loft that were put there 36 years ago and have not seen the ligt of day.

I've been tidying the engine bay on the Charger.

I really want to drive my Charger and shakedown this new water pump and ignition. But I darent. I assume this 'dont use your cars for anything' lark is to do with not wanting any accidents or breakdowns that may cause unnecessary contact or strain on services ? Or is it about not using petrol pumps ? Dunno - but I figured that much as I REALLY want to there is a better chance of my Charger stopping than my Ford so I have not dared use it for any shopping runs or anything. AND the suns out :( :(

Anyone else ?

Glad to hear you have work Mark👍

I’ve stayed open as we have been doing mots and repairs, car sales is effectively shut with distance sales the only possibility, can’t say I’m the calmest happiest person given the state my business could get into, there are many worse of than I though.

Having some time off at the weekend and going to do a few jobs on the Vandura and seeing as the Road Runner is tip top I may Bananarama!.
