Eighties "Mopar Run" Reunion
Sharan Gorringe is organising a Reunion, to celebrate the Mopar Runs to Brighton that she and Steve organised in the 1980's. Provisional date is 18th July 2021.
She's started a Facebook group, and there's some great old photos and nostalgic discussion there:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/3652343 ... ?ref=share
It's a private group, but Sharan or I will approve any requests to join.

Re: Eighties "Mopar Run" Reunion
Sounds like a great idea, especially for us oldies.
Re: Eighties "Mopar Run" Reunion
I'm hoping we can make this, in the Satellite too, first time us and the car will have been there since 1987
Re: Eighties "Mopar Run" Reunion
Think I was at the first one - I'll be there!!!!

Adam, I didn't go to the first one in 1987 so does that exclude me? I went to the one Tony organised in 93 at the Rugby Club, but in my Triumph Herald.
That's where I met John Marsh and ended up buying my Challenger off him.
As it is a "re-union" does it exclude those that didn't go before?

Matt - I think the first one was in the early 80's - '82 or earlier. maybe even 1980, as a it's being billed as a 40th anniversary reunion
We went in 85 soon after getting the Satellite and again in 87 (if memory serves ), but our car was at the earlier meets with its previous owner.
As for who's invited, I think the idea's just to get as many Mopars there as poss. If it was limited to people and cars who went in the 80's, it would be a very small gathering!

Nobody's excluded Matt! As Rob says, the idea is to get as many Mopars and Mopar folk there as possible, old and new I believe the first one was 1982, in Preston Park. It was a joint MMA and MOC event, and I attended in my 66 Mustang!MattH wrote: ↑Fri Aug 28, 20 3:08 pm Adam, I didn't go to the first one in 1987 so does that exclude me? Sharan is going to try and hire the Black Rock car park, which is still there, but the Green run council is anti anything to do with cars, so they probably won't allow it. Withdean Stadium car park has been 'developed' now, so we may finish up at the Roedean Cafe, which actively encourages car club meets.
