yeah i saw that

well they were cars that nobody wanted with little or no spare parts availability....we are in a much better position now

I take it these are all pictures from past banger racing events? So most of these vehicles have long been crushed!

I salvaged all I could from the General Lee painted car. Not much left I have to say.
I am coming to believe a 56mph speed record is harder to achieve than a 400mph one!

That is not as bad as I expected, the list of Aussie cars is not huge and the pics cover a big time span.
I remember a green VH estate that I tried to buy, but he wouldn't sell then bangered it, that could be the one here, 2005 would be about right.

probably mayoral or ex funeral directors car

a few UK companies did specialise in sticking an extra doors worth into the middle of anything your turned up with

you occasionally see the odd Granada or ambassador with what looks like an aluminium and glass shed bolted on for the coffin...to get a matching set you need a long one for friends and family to follow behind

you also see a few mercs in the mayfair area with the area set of door.. these enable the wives of a sheik to go shopping together !
