Jim's Road Runner

Post by Jim »

I've just bought a Road Runner to join the two E bodies I've already got. I like E bodies but there is no doubt a B body is a better car to drive, - especially 71 onwards cars. So i have been keeping a look-out for a nice 71 Plymouth.

Well, i've found one and i bought it yesterday. - 'Sorry no pics at the moment, - i collected it in the pouring rain yesterday and put it straight in my warehouse. I'll post some pics soon. - I expect some of you could post some pics for me, the car is a red 1971 Road Runner APP261J. It's been around a while.

This car is in lovely condition inside and out. It has a strong fresh 440 with Edelbrock ally heads, a big exhaust, beefed up suspension, and loads and loads of new parts. I've bought it to keep it and have some fun with. The body is superb and the paintwork is nice, it's a shame to repaint it, but the original colour is FJ6 Sassy Grass Green, which is one of my favourite colours, so sooner or later it's gotta be green.

It's nice to be in a B body again. I love it!

Jim,

if you ever need someone to help with driving them cars to shows for you, please, dont ever think you would be putting me out if you asked. I am sure i could see my way clear to help you out every now and again if I am not too busy.

Looking forward to the pictures. Enjoy the car mate.

I'd have never guessed that you'd go for a '71+ car, Jim!

Looks like a real corker, that red is one of the best colours for the body shape IMO ;)

Thanks guys. I'm well chuffed with it. I know the red looks nice, but when i saw the code FJ6 for Sassy Grass Green on the fender tag, i knew i had to have it. I'll keep it red for this year though.

Well done Jim, a friend of mine, Mike Barnes used to own the car here in Norfolk, very fast car. I'll see if I can find some pics for you from that time

That'd be nice Roel, many thanks.

It's had a lot done since Mike owned it, and i'll be doing a lot more with it over the next couple of years. I am really pleased to have it, - it is a seriously nice car.

Very nice, dont see many 71's as they suffered from rust problems.
