Doesn’t normally need sealing, does need an adapter to screw into the intake though, do you have that?

If I can’t use the one that’s on there, I’ve got these that came with the gauges, so hoping something fits.

There should be a suitable 3/8” NPT adaptor in there.

Ok ta. Last stupid question before I actually go and get on with doing it, assuming I can just swap the oil pressure pipe from the old gauge to the new, do I need to drain anything? Guessing it’s not going to Bananarama! oil all over the place as it won’t be under pressure?
I told you this thread would be amateur hour.

As long as the engine isn’t running there will be nothing other that a bit of oil drippage when you swap the oil pipe over.

That’ll make it match the rest of the car, then.

Can I just crimp all those together like I have done the earth and connect them to one of the dash lighting wires?Blue wrote: Tue Oct 12, 21 4:09 pm Dash lighting wiring is orange. There will be probably be a spare lighting wire where the radio was. Hooking into that your gauges will light up and dim like the other instruments. One of these is very handy when doing electricals… https://www.ebay.com/itm/372644340041

2nd question! I’ve found this connector with two orange wires coming from the loom and one running out of it which disappears up over the underside of the dash top. I can’t tell, but guessing it’s lighting?Blue wrote: Tue Oct 12, 21 4:09 pm Dash lighting wiring is orange. There will be probably be a spare lighting wire where the radio was. Can I just attach a bullet connector to the gauge light positives and stick it in one of the other holes on that connector?
So clueless right now.

Re: Floyd Brothers 70 Challenger
Spent much of the day lying upside down on my neck under the dash and had some real problems getting everything in and lined up that I didn’t anticipate. Given the job again I would have made the plate differently, but in now. Had a decent go at the wiring, but where I’m unsure, I’ve extended everything out and left if so I can go back to it tomorrow. Had my little helper with me today, which was a Godsend for passing me tools whilst I was stuck and bless her, she helped replace the ripped armrest in the drivers door, which was another thing bugging me.
Had some issues getting the old fitting out of the manifold, so unsure if everything will stay dry tomorrow, but fingers crossed.
Much, much happier with the placement of the gauges now and reasonably happy with the way they look. Just hope they work now when I switch it all on tomorrow when I’ve finished plumbing.

Cheers Blue. Just trying to figure out where to take the feed for the lighting, but that connector seems as dead as a dodo.

Does it not become live when you turn on the lights? It should do unless a fuse has blown.
