1960 Plymouth Belvedere Sonoramic Commando

Post by Motorama »

a few weeks ago i got offered a car, went to view it and ended up buying 2 cars, as you do, a 59 Suburban wagon and this crazy 60 Belevedere street strip car.

Its a well known car in the US, owned, gradually developed and raced by the same guy for about 25 years in NSS classes over there with some good results for a big car. It started out as a lowly 318 powered cruiser, and has ended up with a 469 stroker motor with Long Ram induction and dual Carter carbs amongst other goodies. I really went to buy the 59 wagon to use as a winter smoker so not sure what the fate of the 60 Belvy will be, i have tentativley advertised it though i dont need to sell it, have also been offered strong money just for its running gear but ideally i'd rather it went to someone that gets it and will keep it as is. The only thing i may do to it is put it back on steels and dog dish caps as it was originally for more of a sleeper look, if anyone has a lead on a set of 15 inch steels and poverty caps or cop rims let me know

I read the advert about the Belvedere, sounded like some real strong history. I don’t blame you for not wanting to split the engine. I’m sure there’s a buyer that will want it, exactly as it is :thumbright: :thumbright: :thumbright:

Yeah both are great, i had a 60 Belvy before which had the square steering wheel which was cool.
