Re: E10 petrol
Yeah, that's exactly the contributing factors around me not being able to justify or afford using my car as much. If it was just that the fuel for her was going up but nothing else was, I would just cut the miles I do but still enjoy driving my car. If I combine diesel costs, heating oil price rises (nearly doubled in the 16 months I have been in my new house), electricity, food etc, my monthly 'fun fund' is being spent on essentials. I love my car, but it is a luxury and other bills have to take priority. It won't become yard art (yet) but it's heading that way as things stand

I recon if things get really bad take them out once a month to keep them going and easy on the pedal.
Re: E10 petrol
It all sounds SAD when one reads this, yes life has become a lot more difficult and I must say when it comes to thinking about putting fuel in cars I do wonder if we are going to be able to do it much more.
But hey life is full of ups and downs (lately more downs ) and we have hardly used the cars in the last 2 years, so I am sure we can find a little extra for this year's fuel cost.
I am gone go back to doing more local shows than long distance, but MOPAR NATS is the only one booked at Santa Pod this year.

Re: E10 petrol
Sounds like a good plan Ali. I know there are lots of great shows in your area to keep you busy.
I simply can't justify nearly £10 per gallon at the moment for a hobby car. I will keep her running obviously but will use this tough time to fettle the car instead of using it as much and just see what happens.
When I moved in Dec 2020, 500 litres of home heating oil (Kerosene) was £220. My last delivery 2 months ago was £340 and my neighbour has just paid just under £700 for 500 litres. Its crazy at the moment.
Sorry, bit off thread.
Cheers Steve

Re: E10 petrol
Called at a local independent filling station this afternoon which sells E0 petrol (that's what the stickers on the pumps say). £1.70/l.
Re: E10 petrol
Wow, didn't think I would ever say 'that's good' for fuel!

Re: E10 petrol
How could they have nearly 20p price difference between unleaded and Diesel?
Re: E10 petrol
I understand Shell buys a large amount of their diesel from Russia. That will probably have an impact on the price with supply issues. And this garage is profiteering too.
Re: E10 petrol
There's definitely profiteering going on. Apparently some garages refill their tanks once a week yet put their prices up daily. I think it's worth keeping a note of which garages are doing this and avoiding them if possible.

Saw 1.89 here…
My gas and electric was 139 in November.
Then went to 199. Yesterday they put it up to 323.
323 !!!!! ?!?? I mean wow. No switch deals either so it’s a ‘suck it up’.

My uncle was telling me a pal of his had a letter through from Scottish Power offering him a 2 year fixed rate deal to replace his current £80 pm deal when it expires. £720 pm fixed for 2 years!
