That's looking really good Blue - superb job.

Which Denso is it that you've used? - there seem to be multiple options available!

It's the smallest 45 amp Denso Dougie, it's plenty enough unless there are a load of power hungry add on's.

Halogen headlamps replace the stock gloworms armpits with relays and heavier wiring for maximum brightness.

Looking tidy there! Just received my box of bits from VWP to do the same job. Will be using that pic as reference, for sure. :D 8-)

Here’s an old racers trick for ya. A couple of pieces of shim steel can be used to block the heat crossover in the heads to keep hot exhaust gases out of the intake manifold. It might be handy at minus 20 but other than that it just creates a hotter intake charge which reduces power and aids fuel percolation on hot days. A permanent solution was to melt down an old piston and pour the molten ally into the head to totally block the crossover, modern aftermarket heads don’t have the crossover in the first place.

Edelbrock Torker intake and rebuilt 750 vac secondary installed with a 4 hole phenolic spacer. New -6 fuel lines and double return springs fitted, throttle cable and kick down rod will require modification for the higher intake, that’s a job for another day. Cooling system recieves a Clutch fan, new 16psi rad cap and 180 degree high flow stat along with the modified shroud.

Ah the joy of the seized A arm cam bolt! Luckily the other 3 came out. A die grinder was the only tool I had that would fit in the space so I spent half an hour wearing it away with that….

Ah, I’m still scarred from the memory of trying to do that in a confined space with a recip-saw!

Not a fun job, bet you’re glad that’s over.

Yea it’s a deeply unpleasant job but for a 60 rear old car most things have unbolted fine so far.
