Amber indicator paint
Looking for recommendations for translucent paint.
My front indicators are cracked and broken. I have some spares from a helpful member (cheers Andy, ) which fit, but have clear lenses. Don’t see any way to separate them and replace the lenses only and don’t really want amber bulbs, so new plan is to try and paint the lenses.
Seem to be loads of options around, so hoping someone has tried some and can recommend any, as I only have one shot at this.
Lenses are hard plastic, not sure if glass paint will be any good or not.

24 hours in a day, 24 beers in a case. Coincidence? I think not…

Re: Amber indicator paint
Terrible photo to use, I have amber lighting in the garage! I promise you they are clear.

Re: Amber indicator paint
what's the issue with Amber bulbs? What about Amber led bulbs instead?

Re: Amber indicator paint
I want to retain the stock look of the lights, rather than have visible bulbs through the lenses.

Amber LED's are probably your best bet.

Re: Amber indicator paint
You could use 'dual filament' LED bulbs (amber and white) with the original clear lenses - best of both worlds!

Re: Amber indicator paint
All valid suggestions, ta, but the stock lenses are amber and I want to retain that look, so still looking for a good paint option for the clear replacements I’ve got.

Re: Amber indicator paint
Maybe a light filter gel sheet such as

Cut a couple of circles and stick behind your lenses, cheap enough to give it a try possibly.

Re: Amber indicator paint
I used a paint like that on my Caddy Indicators it’s a while back now but I think I still have the container on my big shelf, pretty sure it was brush application and originally for continental yellowing. I’m away for a bit but will look on my return and report back.
Re: Amber indicator paint
Would Challenger lenses fit for you? Think I still have a set of the amber lenses - can have a look tonight if you want - went the route of combined led with clear.

Yep! It’s a 70 Challenger, if you have good condition amber lenses, I’d be interested!
