69 Plymouth B body quarter skins - AMD only?

Post by Ian Z »

Hey,
Needing both rear quarter skins and outer wheelhouses. I’m struggling to find any supplier stocking AMD pieces. Anyone have experience with Sherman, Goodmark etc? Or anyone have info on any in stock AMD dealer? Have AMD discontinued these quarters? I’’ve heard non-AMD have poor body line definition for starters. I only need below the top swage line though. Cheers

Hi Ian,
I can't comment on AMD, but we have Sherman full length rear quarters on our 69 Satellite. They had just been released when we got them in the early 90's. (pre AMD I guess). I'm not sure if they've changed since then.
I believe they fitted ok, can't remember being told that they needed much cutting etc.
They come up to the top of the wing with about a 3/4" flange. They don't go up to the C pillar.
good luck, Stuart.

AMD are the best quality for sure, sometimes even their stuff needs work to fit. They have been discontinuing repair panels for some time now so their full quarter panels might be your only choice. Sheet metal from all the suppliers goes out of stock for months on end, that was happening even pre pandemic. As for a supplier I’d just go to Chris Goodale, sometimes he can find stuff out of stock elsewhere, his prices and service are second to none.

Thanks Stu, John,
Does Chris advertise? Appreciate his contact details.
I’ve used mostly AMD to date in trunk area but had some work to get them mated to the frame rails I got. It’ll all be better than factory fit when I’ve done…
