Was this once a manual trans?

Post by aussie pete »

Hi, I just noticed this on my 1972 charger 770 ( only had it 15 years 🙄), it looks like where the clutch cyl would go. My other charger 770 doesn’t have these holes.
Both are 318 v8 / auto trans, the one in question has a vague history but nothing indicates that it was ever a manual.

The heater pipes are on the other side but I think that you may be right on the air con suggestion, now that you have said that , I think that one of the option codes was for air con :read2:

yeah mine has/had aircon and i have 2 snapped off pipes from the aircon radiator (can't think of the term at the mo) thing there

H51 Option as per the plate

a clutch rod hole is oval

you probably have a fuse in the top position and an orange wire floating about under the dash for the aircon control light as well

Pete,
Contacting the Valiant Infobase that I mentioned will give a full breakdown on the car. They are also very pleased to be able to log the existence of more of these cars.
