Re: Blue's Barracuda
Whilst the dash is out it’s the best time to do a wiper motor mod. Mopar wiper motors are big old chunks and certainly in the wrong place on a small block A body. A Vauxhall Corsa unit is tiny in comparison, is pretty easily adapted and will fit under the dash. So I’m getting on with that at the moment.

Looks like you should save a fair bit of weight there Blue.
Loving the volt meter mod too, fantastic attention to detail as always

Re: Blue's Barracuda
Thanks Lee! Corsa wiper motor is in, I’ll wait until I’ve finished wiring it before bolting on the linkage.

Re: Blue's Barracuda
found this
never found the photos of the 2 relays wired up, of course that covered off the corsa wire colours missing from the diagram
i'll keep looking
the key to getting it to work is having the wiper motor grounded to the same thing as the switch case
and all of that onto the - at battery
and if the lever and linkage is on the motor keep your hands well clear...
fingers don't really fit between lever and linkage or motor case

I like this wiper idea, self parking would be lovely, never got the Challenger wipers to park on their own. Will this be more than one speed motor?

Yes 2 speed and self parking, same as standard.

Dash back in, just a few more jobs to do but it’s mostly there. I think it was worth all the effort.

That looks excellent. Very cool.
24 hours in a day, 24 beers in a case. Coincidence? I think not…

Re: Blue's Barracuda
that is usually a fault with the switch embedded in the motor gearbox housing under the big gear....MattH wrote: Wed Jun 05, 24 1:39 pm I like this wiper idea, self parking would be lovely, never got the Challenger wipers to park on their own. Will this be more than one speed motor?
you could replace it with an "always on" magnetic reed switch and a magnet on the back of the gear at the park point to switch it off.
the magnet pulls the switch contacts apart
i repaired my switch contacts using a battery pack welder, lasted about six months at which point i gave up and purchased a reconditioned motor
since then i thought about reed switches to replace what is essentially a bendy bit of springy brass like alloy that eventually snaps .....I've not tried it, but they use that kinda thing in dryers and washing machines so should be on the right track
wouldn't need to be in the motor either. magnet stuck to the back of the lever that drives the linkage would work just as well. more space to mount the reed switch into the bargain
sorry just realised i'd hijacked thread....

Re: Blue's Barracuda
High time I fitted a decent breather system, so I did that Today. Waiting for clamps and new filler caps.
