Lol. We call that situation “The Olympics” at work.

That is a superb job you’ve done there, can’t wait to see it.

Been putting off refitting the inner valve springs after breaking in the cam, there didn't seem to be any great hurry with the track shut. Things are moving now so I thought I better crack on, I have a good tool for changing the swings in situ. In the past with big blocks I just used to thread in some nylon rope into the plug hole and turn the engine till it jammed up, that would hold the valves in place. That method wasn't working with a small block, so I had to make up a fitting to screw in to connect to the compressor. Couldn't believe my luck that I had all the fittings needed to do it. An hour later it's all done and I'm torquing up the rocker studs to the correct spec and one breaks off in the head. Yes they're ARP, no they're not Chinese, this yet again is that great American quality the rednecks are always banging on about. This is likely to be painful and expensive, I'm borrowing some left handed carbide drills Tomorrow to see if it will drill.

That is appalling!

I have never had an ARP fixing fail - always a first time.... better than having a Rod bolt fail if that is any consolation...

Yep, 30ftlb on the nose. Seems a bit high on a 5/16" stud though on refection? I've ordered a new set and sent an email to Hughes who will no doubt blame me..
