Bob I would have a guess that it's a Mamod stationary steam engine...I knew Dave was born with a silver spoon in his mouth really...

Actually. It is a plastic toy sewing machine!
Apparently I was fascinated by its moving parts and used to fiddle on with it all the time looking at how its worked.

It's a good job it was easy to get parked in the street in those days. My Dad used to come home from work with some huge rigs to park in the street.
Usually furniture removal vans or even giant low loaders with caterpillar scrapyard cranes on them. He was very popular with other people in the street who often used to have to put a light on during the day because his wagons were blocking the light from their homes. :lol:
