Pleased to see there are some proper car freaks on here I was beginning to worry that you were all one women men.

Seems to be a common theme here. Most have been into Fords and or bikes.

I noticed previously that alot of Aircooled VW guys migrate to US cars

Yea it certainly looks good on paper but time will tell with its reliability under hard use!

I loved my ZX10R but sold it to buy the K1200R so that me and the wife could do a tour of Europe in comfort but still have a good bit of power. i did think about selling it and going for the S1000R last year but the K1200R does everything i need for the now!

not sure why i went into these so much as i did , as it was after i got the charger , started off with a cardinal red one , favorite colour in them , then saw a paris blue special , that just wanted a arch & a re paint , all original !! still think they are a good car , but the prices now for crap is crazy , & to think i restored & sold them 10-15 years a go for 2-3k each !!

Also love Capri's, used to have a 84 2.8i Special......Still the only car i wish i'd never sold.
The only car i've ever made a profit on also!!

The prices haven't changed that much then because good ones still go for around the £2 - 4K mark, i sold my 2.0 S last year for £1000 (after fitting a new drivers wing) to a couple of guys from Capri Club Scotland who run a classic car garage up here, they gave it a fresh new paint job and sold it on for £2000 and they said it was one of the cleanest they had seen in a very long time!

Saying that i don't think i ever paid more than £800 back in the day for any of my Capri's and i've had a few 2.8I Specials, a mk2 3.0l S as well as a load of base models.

I think the 280's have actually come down in price a bit over the last 10 years as they used to be around £12k but you can get one now for about £7k (but thats probably because everyone now knows how over rated they were and just thrown together as end of line cars!)

The 3.0l S of the mk2 or the mk3 variation seem to have increased in value more than any of the others.

Opel Mantas on the other hand have rocketed in value, pretty much from the day after i sold my one but that's no surprise as the same thing happened when i sold my mk1 Escort Mexico, mk1 Cortina GT 2door and first mk3 Cortina!
So if i ever decide to sell my Valiant Charger get out there and buy as many as you can as they are bound to rocket in value!!!
