I run the 180 stat fromReal steel. High flow and works well. My car runs 160 in winter and 180-190 in summer

Yes, fitting brass, but the others are steel, as was the one I removed.

Well, getting closer to firing up again (hopefully!)
Putting the core plug in was a complete arse of a job. It was at an upwards angle and there was barely any room to swing a hammer.
I have put my hedman exhaust manifold back on, along with the "mini" starter.
I'm a bit P1SSED off to be honest that my "mini" starter hits the headers whereas the much larger and heavier original does not.
It only touches slightly on one corner, so a little careful bending or hammering should sort it out, but far from ideal. Makes you wonder about the starter getting too hot though.
I might try and heat shield it, but there is barely enough space!
Supposedly leaving for Le mans on the 10th June, so not loads of time what with all the other little jibs...

Fired her up today for the first time in a few weeks, call seems ok.
Had to beat seven shades of you know what out of the exhaust manifold in a couple of places and it all now fits.
The new starter is a vast improvement....

Glad you have made progress and the fix was not too painful or expensive.......
