All well and good Dave but stock pumps have 5 1/6” connections, competition versions are 3/8”, I believe the extra diameter is necessary for sufficient flow.

True very true but does he need that flow......?

saw "dual plane intake with a Holley 4160" which is i think,( no holley has ever crossed my threshold) a dual plane manifold with 600 cfm vacuum secondaries carb

standard-ish sized carb for breathed over small block...i think that tends more towards street use
so my thinking was standard ish fuel pump would do

if that's as far as it goes standard pipe, tank to front, standard pump happy chappy

if there are plans for road or track domination later....... some investment for the future make sense, Fat fuel pipe and nice good carter with the right sized inlet.

and a bigger fuel tank pickup/outlet?

At the end of the day me or my son-in-law are not mechanics by a long way.
The car has been off road now for over 6 years, mainly due to life getting in the way, obviously the pandemic didn’t help. We originally brought the car with a 318 motor which was fine, but all of a sudden things went downhill rapidly, finally found the crank and shells to be completely knackered, don’t know why. We now have 360 motor which has been rebuilt with new pistons, purple camshaft and Rhoads lifters, we purchased from a chap on here. I’m getting on now and my days of laying underneath the car are starting to take its toll, so trying to gather as information from all you guys who know what you’re talking about, so that we can put a plan together and get all parts required. This is the year

don't know much about purple cam, A bit "more spicy" hydraulic i think

this is a guess...... you will have 250 -350 BHP??? and a load of torque, but i don't think its going to warrant an expensive pump unless you really want one.

360 was an external balance motor: the damper and the flexplate or converter will have been specially weighted to balance off the rotating assembly. i.e standard it would have a 360 specific damper with an offset weight and torque converter with an offset weight
aftermarket uses a standard converter with a flex plate that has the offset weight added, instead of it being on the converter, some of them look like a circle plate with a crescent cut out

manual the motor would have had a flywheel with 1 big or 3 smaller milled out holes in the back...... if there was ever a 360 manual car or truck

whereas the 318 was internally balanced.

if its been rebuilt they may have internally balanced it or they may not

when fitting you need to take this into account

if its mainly just a standard 360 with a nice new cam lifters, and inlet and carb, hopefully it came with the damper and converter parts
if it has been modified to internal balance......well i think....you could use your 318 parts....

there will be a way to tell by looking at the damper but i don't know how...as i have never owned one,
The hub or radial ring will have a thick bit somewhere but i don't know if you can see that from the front or rear of the balancer

My 360 had a damper like this. The style Dave has highlighted is another possibility.

Highly unlikely it has been internally balanced, it would take a load of Mallory metal and would be very costly. Weighted flexplates are avilable to work with a 318 torque convertor but make sure you know if its a 904 or 727 you are bolting it to as they use different diameters.
