...very difficult to get a good result though. I seem to remember it works best on warm metal, and has to be kept warm while drying. And difficult to get an even finish.
I thought I'd update what I've down to the car. I sorted the scratched headlamp surround trim, It took many hours of sanding with wet and dry but has come up good. And also put new deep dish 15x8 Torq Thrust Classics on the back of the car.

You are talking about wrinkle finish,it can be a challenge, but yes it has to be warm,and make sure you have a nice primer base to start,I have had very good luck with the wrinkle finish paint,and you can also use a heat gun to get it to work,and btw I just looked through this thread, love what you have done, very nice,kick a$$ car
Used VHT wrinkle loads of times, it works great provided you follow the instructions, somewhere warm, shake the can for ages before you start and throughout, time between thick coats etc. It will take several days to fully harden but its a great effect.
Couple more jobs to do on it. Need to source a handbrake cable that fits, the RockAuto ones don't. And a new dash pad, as the existing one is from a 71 and has a big crack in it from sun damage.

Thanks for the info Mark - they look good. I have ideas of going a bit bigger - probably not quite as much as that but gives confidence in there being room for a bit more.
