Yeah it is very rewarding when it starts coming together and looking more like a car again!
It's funny you call your car the Turd because that's exactly what I've been calling mine!

Haha that’s the whole thing with old cars, there supposed to be fun, never taken seriously,
Which I just as well given the dramas my Turd has caused me
The latest episode is the Endura Front nose,
Absolutely doing my head in, I’ve totally stripped it,
Blasted it completely, degreased with the correct solvent free DG epoxy sealed it, 3 weeks later it cracked!
So a blasted it again, so spec different epoxy
This lasted about 6 months, no major issues but still the odd crows foot lines,
I’ve now refinished it again but used polyester bridging,
I’ll epoxy this a keep me fingers crossed.
If this fails and I’m quite confident it will I’ll have to get a fibreglass replacement nose,
Bloody cars

Great work, as ever. Really looking forward to seeing this one finished in the flesh.

So probably the last boring update on this saga
for awhile!
It’s all now in 2k , I’ve tweaked the rear screen filler panel a tad and a couple of over small bits,
I’ve completely blocked the sides again and it’s virtually ready to be pulled apart for paint,
Once the doors are horizontal on the panel frames I’ll address any wobbly bits, same for the front quarters
Generally it looks ok ,

Didn’t need to test fit the rear duck tail as I’ve already done that awhile ago,
The nose is in epoxy, I used the new Silco type but it’s a slightly different shade to there 2k
Once it’s all stripped again, I’ll refinish the shell inside and in the boot area etc,
While the general construction of the Fisher Body is good,
Probably more accurate than the Chryslers we all love ,
It’s certainly not spot on accurate,
The left hand rocket assembly was fitted almost 10 mm further forward that the right side,
This has caused me no end of dramas with panel alignment!
And as the cars shell is so sound I couldn’t bring myself to chop a lump off the rocker!

Well the Turds stripped and I’m now almost ready to start painting the inner floors and trunk area ,
The trunk would have been typical yank splatter ,
Which is pretty shoddy so I’ll Bananarama! in body colour,
The inner bulkheads front a rear and the full centre section of floor were always left in red primer?
However the colour scheme is pretty irrelevant so I’ll refinish this area in super duper light grey semi gloss epoxy,
This give a bomb proof protection and a fabulous base for sound deadening materials,
I did datum drill the door and hood hinges before removing them!

All apart now for final painting,
Floor completely re epoxied and trunk floor in body colour
Just the cowl to satin black and the shells ready for final blocking and flatting ,

I’ll have the shell transported to my place of work
I’ve a very large low bake booth,
Get it in on a Friday morning, get it completely masked etc
In colour Saturday, back home Monday!
Bit of a faff but worth the trouble

The turds virtually ready for colour now
The shell is pretty much perfect and probably the best unmolested 70’ F body anywhere,
I don’t think I could have done anything more to make it as corrosion free and corrosion resistant, it’s better protected than a submarine!
Looking forward to the next phase now and reassembly ,

Epic stuff, very impressive.
So is the trunk now painted white? it looks to be a very blue-ish white on the photos.
Strange how Ford & GM do their bulkheads & engine bay in satin black, whereas Chrysler just did everything body colour. That must have been easier surely?
