Incidentally, the Durango did 21mpg on its recent road trip around the North; that was with a 440 and 727 in the back for over half the journey....I have a K&N Filter in it but no cold air system.............

Actually while I'm here.
Would it be a problem if I removed the intake from the grill to filter exposing it to the elements ( ie rain !) ? But getting more cold air.
How do the people with a scoop , or blown motor get on in a heavy down pour ?
As I understand a small amount of mist can be beneficial to combustion ( water and methanol injection ).

Pete i got an 2.5 td navara auto that only averages 25mpg (on a run it does do a bit more, but my all round average is 24-25mpg).
Time to buy a 5.7 hemi ram i think.......
