Went 'round to my new house a minute ago to check out what potential snow-based problems we might experience in the future, the main one? no steps down to the house and a 1 in 4 gradient at one point in the driveway

Both me and the girlfriend fell on our asses on our way out, methinks I will invest in a good yard brush when we move in in a couple of weeks ...
Driving up the lane back to the main road (also 1 in 4 at one spot) was, ummm, interesting. The locals park at the top of the road and just walk up in the morning, which seems like a smart move

Never buy a house that sits below road level. Unless you like the damp.

Not to bad here, but plenty of snow on Winter Hill at the end of my street

it was easy to see on the way back thanks to the snow reflecting the light.

Its been empty a year and is dry as a bone

Seriously though, its just built on a big wiggly hill ... some of the houses opposite have unuseably steep driveways!
