Hardly Suprising :D a lot of respect the work going into these and the balls to drive them on todays roads. In the past you would not hit anything as everyone would get out of your way tru road kings.

Of course living in Bolton am Familiar with the Late Fred Dibnah and loved the TV shows he did before he pased away.

Mate had a black one with a tuned Burton motor.
If you got a good shift in second the back end slammed down and opened the tail gate !!!! :thumbright:

I bought a fiesta RS Turbo new back in the 90's, and was very surprised that I didn't end up in a tree, I ragged it around every day

I had a MKI of the XR2 with the OHV Cross Flow motor.

I bought it brand new off the forcourt. Did not know what I was looking at - I went in to buy a 950 Fiesta.

They told me the XR2 was a performance vehicle. I found that hard to believe as I had a 1000cc Bike parked next to it.

However, it was a lot of fun and it went around corners like it was on rails.

Kid arrived, XR2 made way for a 2.8 GL Granada.....

Keep the pictures of live steam coming.

Out of control down hill sounds like a horrid moment

My son Jack (13) gets to play with these quite regularly, as he helps with the Saunders Collection of Steam engines. I've helped a bit and been on a few road runs on the Showmans engines. Also helped with steam ploughing 2 years ago.
Great fun and it's good to get the younger generation involved.

Aw man. Now we are talking. Me too Pete.
Orange it was (sunburst red) 1600x-flow. Mint too - all 84bhp worth. Man I remember it being quick (for the time) though. ANd cornering was epic. 185 tyres on something than tiny and light. GOnna have to dig out a photo now. Had a couple of mkIIs as well - they just werent the same.

Mine got nicked eventually. Little **** were ripping round in it, we saw them. Never got the car back - terrific shame. :(

Now to phone mum and get a photo !
