Is that how modern cars measure tyre temp? I've been wondering that since I only heard of it a few months ago :? :-k

Most street cars are doing this are using an internal sensor that measures pressure also.

I had hoped to also use this sensor but due to the sheer mass speed and Centrifugal forces involved it won’t work.

Funny thing is as it’s mass market it was half the price of the one I had to buy

Rear wheel

I actually brought two wheel but nothing is built to the tolerance level we require so decided to make a real wheel from scratch.

We are going to build a very unique design wheel and axle system and see this as the future of drag bikes...

More to follow

billet was 54kg and yes it’s heavy :D

Nope. I got nothing. I think you have killed my capacity for surprise.

I presume that's aluminium?
54kg?
I didn't think even a ton of ally weighed 54kg? :geek:

wind chimes, you're trying to get them to play a particular tune before you hang them in your garden :thumbright:

Sensors to pick up disturbances in the spacetime continuum as you approach warp speed ?

Almost

There microphones :stummin:

These are used to listen to the model and listen to how aerodynamic the shape is :santa:

If the shape was very un aerodynamic it would cause a lot of noise when the air hits it.

As we improve the design and make the model more aerodynamic it becomes quieter :read2:

We also have a load cell under the model measuring the force generated this will allow us to work out our Drag coefficient (Cd) and center of pressure (Cp)

In fluid dynamics, the drag coefficient (commonly denoted as Cd) is a dimensionless quantity that is used to quantify the drag or resistance of an object in a fluid environment, such as air or water. :geek:

The center of pressure (commonly denoted as Cp) is the point where the total sum of a pressure field acts on a body, causing a force to act through that point.

Next up we put our bodywork design back into a computer and asked it what it thought of our design
and how we could reduce its Cd....

The Arrows show in what direction would should move the bodywork to reduce our Cd and the darker the arrows the more we need to move the bodywork :read2:
