I first Boxed off all the sides facing the exhaust which I can apply some sort of heat shield on

This is giving me a nice area inside to work out how big I can make my fuel tank

To my surprise, the fuel tank is much larger than I expected.

And if anything, I need to make it a little smaller.

:-k

Elsewhere on the bike, I was to find a location to install 2x high power lithium-ion batteries.

The issue with lithium batteries is they don't like heat and explode when they get too hot

Soooo

I decided it would be a great idea to put the Batteries inside the fuel tank and use the fuel as an insulation to keep them cool

Morgan is not going to like this one

😬😬😬

I also fitted a submergible fuel pump inside the tank to save more space on the bike and keep the weight as low as possible

Need to pass some lines under the fuel tank so welded in some Pass through tubes for turbo oil drain in frame rails

Bobs the uncle fanny the antie hope it don't go bang

Next will be lagging the exhaust Manifold to try and keep the heat down

😳

Tank is big enough for the long course at Bonnaville😎

Welcome back to the reports!

Mixed reviews on wrapping turbo exhaust Manifold due to average temp inside the exhaust running at 700°c ++ then wrapping the exhaust can push temperatures up to steel melting point which can crack manifolds.

Compounded by the fact we are running full closed-loop lamda fuel control meaning we run very lean compared to most pushing the temps even higher

The way I look at it is better to crack a Mainfold then overhear the fuel tank.

I am using lots of silica-based products with a much higher heat rating than the sexy looking lava based product.

I once wrapped a set of headers on a 440 and with a bare wrap would T-bag with any fluid leaks.

Bit of an experiment but have gone over the wrap with a Silica based adhesive metal tape used in the aerospace industry which on paper should work well.

Lock wire over the top

Panelled the fuel tanks and all walls with multiple layers

Time will tell 🤔

Hard to put this build into superlatives, very impressive seems such an understatement :D :D
