Well the car is now road legal with MOT & Tax!

Jim did a fantastic job (highly recommended for the West mids/Worcestershire members) and got it to a point where it wont kill me!

He's also done me a huge favour and replaced the leaking selector gasket on the tranny......(I'd not have a clue where to start, so decided to pay for expertise rather than Bananarama! it up)) :thumbright:

Jim also gave it a once over from a tuning point of view............

Whreever it was before it was well off.......

It is like a different animal now. The tickover is a lot better and the thing trys to pull past the brakes when in drive....lets just say its eager.

Also found out that the throttle had been put in a position where it was only giving 50% power at max throttle......Add to the fact the kickdown linkage was way out (didn't want to change gear), plus the carb was piped up wrong it wasn't exactly inspiring for a 318!

It now chirps tryres, and its a hell of a lot more responsive on hitting the loud pedal! :thumbright:

Testing after I picked it up and giving it the beans confirmed my end goals though.....Added/Restored power was great but......More please!! :thumbright:

Got it home and I'd been given a list of things to look at and rectify (this is a car that I want to learn on after all), so slowly working my way back through.

Pulled the Dash AGAIN for the third time this year (non working speedo) and now have that sorted!
Rewired the MAD conversion for ALT to Battery with bigger Gauge wire and routed to the rear rather than the front. Added fuses and tidied wiring!

Decided that since I'm going the whole hog with this car I would test colours in the bay area. This happened months ago with a VW colour. It was closest match by eye (i was far off) to what the car is now. Nope don't like plus it was a quick hatchet job by me!

Changed shade and gone Mopar, ripped some parts off, stripped and painted brackets, stripped and moved wires, painted inner fenders and reinstalled.

Removed the heater from the car (never worked anyway), as I didn't want to drill the firewall for the capillary, hooked that lot up last night!

Got a few more things to do this week for a proper test, but its nearly there (only three months over my target completion date)!!

Its not easy with my worklife and family, finding the time ( I manage an hour a night if that)!

BUT........It SHOULD be at the HRD's!!! :thumbright:

Most of the work is hidden, but quite a change from March this year........

Thanks chaps! :thumbright:

Definitely worth the wait and the grin returned when I first hammered the throttle after leaving the garage!

Won't be running it down the 1/4 at the HRDs though........it's a Dodge ( Drops Oil, Drops Grease Everywhere), and though the tranny has been sorted it's now been replaced with an oil leak.......nothing serious but I won't risk shutting the track!

Intend to drive it as much as I can for the next 2 months then it's stage 2 over Xmas/new year!

Changed plugs & leads tonight.........4 different brands coupled with a few in different heat ranges.....Another bodge sorted!
