I agree. Loose the Mallory and fit MSD, Jacobs or FBO.

If you change the cam (I suspect it is something like a Mopar 284 duration cam just by the way it idles) then you may also need to fit the matching springs for that cam.

If you are going for more power change the valves to one piece stainless if that has not been done already.

You will also probably need a higher stall torque convertor. It needed one as it was when I tried tuning it. If it will not idle at 800rpm in drive when held on the brake then you need a higher stall.

I seem to remember the carb needed a couple of small holes drilled in the throttle blades to make it idle correctly. I don't know if Trev did that little job.
