Pan must be totally flat, make sure all the holes are flat in the pan. Don't overtighten the bolts 12-15lb/ft max. It is the pan, not the dipstick hole.

I think i would have been wondering what was up after the first time.

Like Kev says. Either the pan is not flat or the leak is from one of several other places.

What area of the pan does it seem to be coming from?

The gasket is NOT the problem. You are just wasting your time again.

How can anything leak past a gasket unless there is a gap to do so?

If you are sure the pan is straight and the sealing surface of both the pan and trans is clean and without deep scratches then I doubt very much that it is leaking at all.

The thing with trans oil is that it runs around on the ledge above the gasket seal and LOOKS like it is leaking from the gasket.

In fact there are several places just ABOVE the gasket where oil can leak from.

So clean it all off and have a damn good look and feel. If there is any oil above the gasket on the ledge it is not coming from the gasket. If you can identify the side it seems to be coming from I can tell you which seal needs replacing.

Hey Gaz,

Have you checked the filler tube that goes into the top of the pan, it could be seeping past there and making it look like it's coming from the pan...I think there's an O ring in there and that could be shagged.

if its the two cable trans it will be the kickdown spindle seal leaking common as hell its on the l/hand side oil then collects on the left hand side off the pan and front off it,

I had a similar situation and tried everything, only to find that it was leaking from the filler tube, new `o`ring and a bit of sealer (to make sure) and now the oil stays in the trans
