Alex could probably provide accurate guidance on this one, but I think you are talking about the coated sticker on the back edge of the door, which I think you may be able to peel off with the help of a heat gun.

However, I'm pretty sure you can get reproductions, if it all goes wrong!

I'm pretty sure you can get repros...may have to be a Galen Govier job and a build sheet.
But if the original is sound, there's no reason why it can't be copied...even while it's on the door, but let's see what Alex, Dave, Pete or Jim say...they are the originality boys!

If you are modifying the car why worry about a door sticker? I used to have the address for the repros but can't find it now.

The Dash VIN will show it as a 1973 car. You need to look at the FENDER TAG.

The build sheet is the most important document with the car. Look after any copy you find in the car. Check that they refer to your car. Often the lazy b's on the production line just walked the length of the line putting any copy in any car. So there are many cars with the wrong build sheet. I have a mate who tries to re-unite these build sheets with the correct cars. Let me know if you have any like that.

The build date is on both the build sheet and the fender tag. You would need one or the other (maybe both?) to get a replacement door sticker made.

This club can give you a letter confirming the build date of the car.
